FT: “Tories stifle FSA Staffing Drive”

Following on from my previous blog entry discussing the Conservative party’s intention to abolish the FSA, I read with interest the lead article on the front page of the FT on Monday with the headline “Tories stifle FSA staffing drive”. It is no surprise that the FSA’s aggressive hiring plans have been thwarted as applicants will be conscious that they could be out of a job in a year’s time should the Tories gain power, which would seem likely.

Hector Sants, FSA’s Chief Executive, warned that George Osbourne’s plan would “increase uncertainty and make recruitment more difficult”.

Given the increased work load and pressures faced by the FSA these days, I strongly suspect that they will be eager to utilise quality interim managers to assist them to deliver which should be great news for the interim market.

In recent days I have placed 2 interim Lean specialists into a major London retail bank for a cost reduction programme and an Interim Risk Director to a pension provider.
